Mariner's Cove is the best neighborhood!

We sure think so, and hope you do, too.

Located in Third Lake, Illinois, Mariner’s Cove is a unique community of 338 homes nestled in an area with abundant recreational opportunities. Mariner’s Cove sits between Druce Lake and Third Lake, and borders the Rollins Savanna Forest Preserve. With 225 acres of water for fishing, boating and swimming, Mariner’s Cove has the feel of an intimate resort area in the heart of bustling Lake County, Illinois.
The community is friendly, supportive, caring and outgoing." - resident of 7 years

Fertilizer Impact on Third and Druce Lakes

The use of phosphorous containing fertilizers on our lawns can have a negative impact on our neighborhood retention ponds and our lakes. Stormwater runoff from neighborhood yards, driveways, and streets flow to the street storm sewer drainage system which discharges into the neighborhood retention pond and eventually to Druce and Third lakes. The phosphorous contained in the runoff can contribute to algae blooms in our ponds. These algae blooms can enter our lakes creating unhealthy conditions for swimming, boating, and fishing. Phosphorous also contributes to excess vegetation growth in our ponds and lakes, especially invasive plants. Please refrain from using fertilizers containing phosphorous on your lawns. Please see the links below for articles regarding phosphorous use:
